Dr Joanna Hutcheon
MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Joanna completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Queensland, Brisbane in 2012. She completed her internship and junior doctor years at The Princess Alexandra, Hervey Bay and Ipswich Hospitals. She was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019.
Dr Joanna is drawn to General Practice for its diversity and ongoing educational opportunities. She has a particular interest in integrative and preventative health and has commenced working towards her fellowship with the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. She has done further courses in skin cancer medicine and surgery and medicinal cannabis. She is also interested in women’s health, mental health and lifestyle medicine.
When she is not in the clinic, Dr Joanna is busy with her two small children and a growing brood of animals (currently a Kelpie called Jude, a Russian blue called Rosie and 3 baby chickens). She also owns a plant-based refillery store in Tugun and is passionate about helping her community remove toxins from the home and waste from the environment.
Dr Joanna is excited about joining the team and is welcoming new patients.
